Benjamin Schwartzkopf was the a commanding of Wolf's Dragoons Delta Regiment since 3020 until 3028.
In Spring 3020, Wolf's Dragoons entered the Lyran Commonwealth's service, in part due to their impressive performance on Hesperus II. Colonel Sarah Weisz elected to retire, much to the disappointment of her troops. At her suggestion, Major Kathleen Dumont was chosen to succeed her. This was likewise viewed with disapproval by Delta's rank and file, many of whom favored Major Benjamin Schwartzkopf for the command.[1]
He kept his position as commanding officer of Able Battalion ("The Landsknechts") until 3028.[2]
Surviving the crucible of Misery, he led the surviving elements of his battalion through the Battle of Wapakoneta in 3028 who were folded into Delta's First Provisional Company. Major Benjamin Schwartzkopf, led Orange Fire's defense against the Galedon Regulars. Schwartzkopf ambushed a battalion of 'Mechs, using position, experience and surprise to good advantage. Unfortunately, the rest of the Dragoons were unable to reinforce Delta First, and Schwartzkopf and most of the company were killed. [3] The White Fire group was able to save Orange Fire when they appeared behind the Galedon Regulars, leading the Twelfth to pull back as well.
