Clan Invasion
The 16th Legion of Vega was created as a "replacement" for the 14th Legion, which was wiped out by the Smoke Jaguars on Turtle Bay, in the early stages of the Clan Invasion. The unit was constructed from low-ranking academy graduates and warriors already being considered for transfer from their existing units. Officers who were respectable were chosen, even if they were not distinguished.[1]
As of 3059, the unit had engaged in no significant actions.

Officers
As of 3059, Tai-sa Yorishiki Hojo commands the regiment. The XO is Chu-sa Kijuro Nagoya, who is a follower of the old-school bushido philosophy. Officers are permitted to request a transfer from the 16th after one year of service.[1]
Tactics
The 16th uses artillery-delivered smoke rounds to create favorable battle conditions, either closing with an enemy under cover of the smokescreen or using them to conceal FASCAM-delivered minefields.[1]
