Overview
The One Hundred Seventy-ninth BattleMech Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History
In 2764, the unit was stationed on Hoyleton[1], assigned as a part of the LXVI Corps, Third Army, to District 2 of the Federated Suns Military Region, but was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery.[2]. The 179th was destroyed during the Periphery Uprising in 2765.[2]
Officers
The commanding officer in 2764 was Major General Zbynek Maly.[3]
Composition
As an SLDF BattleMech Division the 179th would have been composed with two Brigades of 'Mech regiments and one brigade of Mechanized Infantry regiments.[4]
