History

Formation

The First Sakhalin Regulars was originally a Star League Defense Force command, the 199th Light Horse Regiment. Originally a part of LXVIII Corps within the SLDF Eighteenth Army, the 199th had been posted in the Periphery when the Periphery Uprising began, and survived the Uprising, as well as the Amaris Coup and the resulting Hegemony Campaign. In 2782 the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces recruited the 199th, and redesignated them as the First Sakhalin Regulars.[1]

The First were stationed on Sakhalin when the First Succession War began, and were still in place at the end of the War, although they had been reduced to half strength. During the War the LCAF founded a sister regiment to the First, the Second Sakhalin Regulars, who were serving alongside the First on Sakhalin in 2821.[2]
