4th Succession War
During the 4th Succession War, the Third raided the world of Lyons. On orders to wipe out settlement of New Freedom.[1] May, 5th, 3029 the regiment strikes the city, and over course of two days slaughters the population. On the 17th, the mercenary unit The Kell Hounds, arrives conducts a sneak attack against them. Kell Hounds' 1st Battalion over run 3rd Command HQ and killing regiment's commander. After the realizing that the unit was cut off from its DropShips, the 3rd in command Tai-sa Hiro Akuto surrenders.[2]

Clan Invasion
Early in the Clan Invasion the DCMS moved regiments from garrison positions onto the Clan front, this left important worlds without protection. The Third were split in two, 1st Battalion going to guard Dieron while 2nd Battalion guards the world Altair.
Operation Bulldog
During this operation its watched the borders for possible raids.
Dominion War
The command was task with the important defence of Dieron and Altair. Both are planets with important military value. But nothing occured.
Federated Suns Incursion
After the redeployement of the Eridani Light Horse command to Dieron, the Third could share the burden to defend this planet with another unit.
Jihad
The Third were prepared for the Word of Blake invasion of Dieron, but by March 3068 most of their fixed positions were overrun by the Blakists. Only the arrival of the 10th Ghost prevented them from collapsing completely. They ceased to be an effective combat unit in 3070 when their headquarters was overrun; The remnants of the Third surrendered shortly thereafter. Survivors of the unit scattered across the world; some were captured by the Blakist forces.[3]
Officers
As of 3025, the commanding officers was Tai-Sho Sen Ti Ch'uan.
Tai-sa Gerrald Hyogo was the commanding officer of the Third during the Jihad.[4]
Tactics
The unit specializes in Urban Combat, in Succession Wars era was considered a Medium 'Mech Unit.[5]
Composition

- 3rd Dieron Regulars (1 Regiment/Regular/Reliable)
- The unit received only 12 Omnimech, because of their defensive deplloyment and low priority for supplies.
- 3rd Dieron Regulars Aerospace (2 Companies/Regular/Reliable)
- The command is splitted, because they must provide air defense for two planets. Should the need arise the ranks can build up to wing level on each world through the assigment of militia fighters.
- Dieron Red Brigade, 255th District Armored (2 Regiments/Green/Reliable)
- Like the fighter the two units provide support for the mech force on both planet an are only attached temporaly.
- 7th Dieron Protectors, 21at Aliair Defense Force (2 Regiments/Green/Reliable)
- These to milita are only are attached should an invasion occur.
