Unit Brief

The 431st Division was a ComStar Combined Armed combat force consisting of a Division worth of 'Mechs, Combat Vehicles, Aerospace Fighters and Infantry.[1]

History

The Division first appeared in the Inner Sphere in the 3030s, when ComStar begun to deploy 'Mech armed units throughout the Inner Sphere. The Division was assigned to the 7th Army, stationed on the world Free Worlds League world of Camlann as part HPG Station's garrison force.[2][3]

Near end the of the Clans invasion, the unit redeployed with the rest of the 7th Army's components to Tukayyid in 3052. Once there, the unit was designated as reserve unit. 7th Army's was assign to garrison the cities of Joje and Tost from Clan Nova Cat as part of massive proxy battle for possession of Terra.

After the Nova Cats made their landing, its fellow Comstar units were able catch Clan's forces by surprise and decimate components of the Alpha Galaxy. Its fellow units of the 7th Army and elements of the 12th Army engaged Gamma and remains of Alpha as they tried to push ahead to Joje. As Clan galaxies struggled, reinforcements appeared in the form of the 44th Nova Cat Cavaliers from Cat's Beta Galaxy which were attempting to aid its comrades. The 431st and fellow Army-mate the 13th were lying in wait along side the road that the Cavaliers were taking. They would catch the unsuspecting Cluster by completely surprise and utterly devastated them, preventing from linking up with their fellow beleaguered Clansmen.[4][5][6]
