Description
A IIC-style redesign of the venerable Baleena cargo submarine, the Baleena IIC is a submarine that was observed deploying and supporting underwater battlesuit formations. It is armed with Long Range Torpedos.[1]
Little else is known about the design, except that it shares its mass (200 tons) and aesthetics with the classic Baleena, which is where the similarities between the two designs reportedly end. The Baleena IIC was reported as "deadly" and a "fearsome hunter".[1]
History
Design specifics or even an introduction date and origin for the Baleena IIC are unknown.
A report dated 3084[1] mentioned that Clan Wolf had deployed Baleena IIC submarines on the water-rich worlds of their Occupation Zone, though from the context this may already have occurred at some earlier point. It was also mentioned that there had been an influx of specialized water combat gear originally designed by Clan Goliath Scorpion,[1] suggesting the Baleena IIC design too may have originated with Clan Goliath Scorpion and may predate the Clan Invasion (though the wording does not necessarily tie the Baleena IIC to the aforementioned Goliath Scorpion equipment).
