Overview[edit]

A Marine in a Combat Environment Suit carrying a C8 demolition charge

A C8 Blasting Block is a common demolitions device consisting of a block of C8 plastique, allowing it to be molded into any shape and affixed to nearly any surface. C8 is the explosive of choice for Inner Sphere organizations, as it is very stable and can be dropped or even set on fire without exploding. It is, however, expensive and requires the use of a special detonator, commonly found as part of a demolition kit, in order to explode. Since they are designed to cut through or destroy buildings and vehicles, these demolition charges are relatively contained to avoid wasting energy, decreasing their blast range by half in comparison to similar weapons.[1]
