This is a listing of all articles on warbands that are considered to be pirates (as opposed to legit military commands, mercenaries, or noble armies), or as bandits, terrorists, or similar illegitimate free agents. Note that the line between mercenary units and pirates is blurred at times: Many mercenary units have been branded pirates by one faction or another, and conversely, some pirate bands can be hired for illicit purposes (albeit usually not through the MRB/MRBC) to the point where they are de-facto mercenaries on the sidelines.
