Description
The Cavalry Attack Helicopter was introduced service in 3054, by Michaelson Heavy Industries. The helicopter was designed for hit-and-run engagements rather than frontline combat situations. This was due in part of its ammunition supply running low in prolonged battles.
The helicopter was deployed initially in Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth, where the design performed flawless in service despite its limitation. It went on to perform well during the during the FedCom Civil War.
The Cavalry has seen service since seen in both former FedCom States and minor-nobles among the Chaos March.
Armaments & Capacities
The aircraft is main armaments consists array of short-range missiles launchers. Principly, a Six-Tube launcher mounted in the front, with three additional two-tube launchers co-axed to it. Six-Tube launcher has been given only 15 rounds of ammunition to draw from, while smaller two-tubes have been 50 missiles drawn from the ammo bay.
Cavalry is been noted for its good armor protection, which has been given 3.5 tons standard armor. The armor specially located in its nose, can handle a hit by a Clan design ER PPC.
Variants
- Cavalry (SRM Variant) - This variant increase SRM-2 Launchers count to four launchers. However, to accomplish this, its armor reduced consistibly. BV (2.0)=???
- Cavalry (Infantry Variant) - In this variant, 110 Rated ICE engine is replaced with Fusion Engine. This allows for 4 ton Infantry Bay, three forward mounted Medium Lasers, and three Machine Guns with half ton of ammunition for it.[1]
Notes
A Third variant of the Cavalry is mentioned, but however it written as a re-design of the aircraft's to allow for a two man piloting/gunner crew. However no record sheet has been provided for this variant as of this writing.
