This sourcebook provides the history of ComStar through 3055, some of the technologies it preserved (and how) and the reason for the schism that led to the creation of the Word of Blake.

Though thin, this sourcebook advanced the universe of Classic BattleTech a great deal, especially by introducing the new ComStar splinter group, the Word of Blake.[citation needed]
