Dirkson descended from a minor Lyran Commonwealth noble family, but being a fourth son he was without a 'Mech and served in his local planetary militia, until he discovered a fully functioning 'Mech after a Free Worlds League attack. Joining the Eridani Light Horse, on the basis of his belief the mercenary life was glamorous, his ambition cooled with age.
At age 40 in 3025, he was an officer patient with his more reckless young charges, knowing their spirit had also infected him at their age.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Dirkson was known to pilot a Victor BattleMech, nicknamed "The Wild Side". As a hobby Dirkson spent time tinkering with his 'Mech together with his technician, resulting in some modifications which created interest from faculty at the New Avalon Institute of Science.[1][2]
