Major Franklin Kroger was the commander of the 50th Heavy Cavalry Battalion ("Bloody Half-Hundred") of the Eridani Light Horse's 151st Light Horse Regiment during the Dark Age.[1]

The command of the Bloody Half-Hundred was a hereditary position, which Franklin held by right of descent from Major Teller Kroger, who led the assault on Sendai in 2798 to avenge the slaughter of the Light Horse's civilian dependents by Draconis Combine authorities.[2][3]
Unlike other Kroger family members like Simon T. Kroger Jr., Franklin was known to sometimes take side jobs, which did not involve the rest of his command. For this reason, some thought this might result in Franklin being the last Kroger to hold his hereditary command.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Kroger was known to pilot a BLR-1S-A BattleMaster BattleMech, which was supposedly inherited from his storied ancestor Teller Kroger, nicknamed "Eve of Destruction".[1]
