Description

The Hammerhead was first deployed in 2407 during the Age of War, and is used as a defensive craft around planets and jump points.

Armament & Capabilities

The Hammerhead has excellent acceleration for a larger AeroSpace Fighter, and after the addition of Ferro-Aluminum armor in the 26th century, is also well-protected. The craft is armed only with a single Imperator Zeta-20 Autocannon, with a mere 15 shots. Therefore, the Hammerhead, like the Ironsides, is best deployed for quick strikes close to supply lines.

Variants

  • HMR-HDb - Designed for the exclusive use of SLDF Royal commands, the HMR-HDb Hammerhead partially compensates for the problem of ammunition dependence by replacing the Autocannon with an M-7 Gauss Rifle and an additional 2 tons of ammo. BV (2.0) = 1,338
  • HMR-HE - Armed with only two PPCs, the craft is fitted with 11 Double Heat Sinks. BV (2.0) = 1,254
  • HMR-HF - Armed with LB 10-X Autocannon mounted in front of aircraft, with 20 Rounds of ammunition. The craft secondary weaponry includes a pair of ER Medium Lasers, with single laser mounted in each wing. BV (2.0) = 1,162
  • HMR-HG - This variant of the Hammerhead is armed with single Ultra A/C 20 Autocannon, with only 10 rounds in the ammo bins. The craft only has 10 Heatsinks fitted in it, thus prone to over heating. BV (2.0) = 1,235
