Hosteen was a solahma warrior of Clan Jade Falcon Remnants.

History

Hosteen was a veteran warrior which served at his Clan during a long but common career. He never won a Bloodname, and, by 3150 had been relegated into a solahma, so, when Khan Malvina Hazen, he was left behind on Sudeten. However, luck changed for him and others in 3151, when Jiyi Chistu decided to rebuild their clan in Sudeten. As he lacked forces, he made the unusual step to allowing a second Trial of Position to older and discarded warriors. His second in command, Star Captain Quinn only identified ten promising candidates, and Hosteen was one of these. The 9 August, their training began. The 10 September, the aspirants fought their Trial of Position. Hosteen fought his beside another candidate, Dawn (Clan Jade Falcon). Hosteen was one of five candidates to pass the Trial, though marginally, as he only became a warrior.[1]

The 9 October, Hosteen, alongst Dawn, was selected by Chistu tu participate into a daring raid to Quarell, to capture several Clan Ghost Bear sibkos, traveling onboard the Falcon's Shadow (DropShip). During the way, he fully supported Dawn, which was his commander, and quickly adapted to use new tactics to win.[2]

Once on Quarell, Hosteen fought well in the Trial of the Pykon River Delta, and Khan Chistu tasked him personally to put on fire a forest filled with Ghost Bears, making himself a target to protect a point of Salamander Elementals he carried. Hosteen survived the Trial, but not the aftermath of it: when the Falcon's DropShip was to depart with the cadets, the Bears Star Captain Allison Rand, after murdering his superior, launched an attack to the spaceport to recover the cadets. With the Falcon's Shadow threatened, Hosteen volunteered to launch a rearguard action to distract the attacking Bears, alongst with other four Falcon solahma warriors. Reluctantly, Chistu agreed, and the suicide Star, led by Hosteen, took five heavy Mechs and launched a daring attack against Rand's forces. All were killed in a matter of minutes, but their sacrifice won time for the DropShip to depart, saving Chistu and the cadets, and saving his Clan at short term.[3]

BattleMech

Hosteen passed his Trial of Position in a Locust IIC. On Quarell, he fought within a Nova, and in his last battle, he piloted another Mech.[4]
