History[edit]

Early Career[edit]

Dawn finished her sibko training sometime about 3148, but when she faced her Trial of Position, she failed, as a free-for-all ensued, and she was downed by one of her instructors which hated her, so she was singled out from the warrior caste and forced her into the paramilitary police, were she served for about three years in Sudeten.[1]

IlClan Era[edit]

After the Falcon's almost annihilation on Terra, Khan Jiyi Chistu took command of Sudeten, attempting to rebuild his clan. As he needed desperately warriors, former warriors solahma and failed warriors received a new opportunity to become full-fledged warriors, and Dawn was one of these. On 9 August 3151, Chistu interviewed some candidates, included Dawn. The Khan took a special interest in her, asking her why she hadn't became warrior, and, after remembering every one how much the Falcons needed them, their training began in simulators. She quickly proved her experience as was the first aspirant to manage to activate his 'Mech.[1]

On 10 September, Dawn passed his Trial of Position, along with Hosteen, her fellow fledgling. Despite piloting a light Locust IIC, she managed to down an adversary, and her last shots before being downed, a second one, so she not only passed the Trial, but became Star Commander of the First Falcon Sentinels. Of all the candidates, only five, including her and Hosteen, passed the Trial, and she was one of only two which were considered promising.[2]

On 7 October, Dawn's simulator session was cut short, as Chistu was mobilizing her, along with two full Trinaries, onboard the Falcon's Shadow. Their mission, which they were informed in the way, was to launch a Trial of Possession against Clan Ghost Bear world of Quarell, to claim several Bears' sibkos. In the way, Chistu personally trained the warriors to know and counter the Bears' tactics, and Dawn showed great adaptability and intelligence.[3]

Dan led her Star, Talon Star, in the Trial of Quarell, fighting well. She downed at least a Kodiak, preventing the pilot drowned and claiming her as bondswomen. On 8 September, after departing, she made all the possible to reassure the young cadets captured, specially one specially rebellious, Alexis Zarnofsky. Once in Sudeten, Dawn gave Alexis and her friends the welcome to their new clan.[4]

Once again on Sudeten, Dawn assisted, on 9 January, to Daniel and Alexis' Trial of Position. When the first was fighting, she asked Alexis' opinion about the fight. When Daniel won barely the rank of Warrior, she congratulated him, but also told him than he would have made better. When Alexis won the rank of Star Commander, she gave the young one an embrace. Khan Chistu later ordered her to give Alexis a Turkina as 'Mech, and to let her choose the warriors in her Star.[5]

BattleMech[edit]

Dawn's first 'Mech, in which she fought her Trial of Position, was a Locust IIC 4S. On Quarell she piloted an assault Turkina.[6]
