"Johnny Mace, 'Mech Ace" is a humorous short story by Edward N. Smith published on BattleCorps.
The story featured Johnny Mace, a MechWarrior who was an independent mercenary. The poorly-educated and poorly-mannered Mace stumbled his way through a meeting with a sort of "temp agency" for independent mercenaries on Galatea.
