Justin Cloud Hall was a thirty-second-century Ghost Knight of The Republic of Sphere, and later a mercenary.

History

Justin Hall served as Ghost Knight, along Redburn Guards during the Battle of Terra, in Australia. There, after Clan Wolf landed, taking Sydney and Melbourne and crushed the bulk of the defenders, Justin led a guerrilla war nearby Perth, destroying a munitions depot and later a supply convoy. The Wolves answer was brutal: they tracked Justin's unit to Atitjere, a small settlement, and after ordering the population to evacuate it, they razed the town. This put an end to Hall's campaign and clearly signaled than any support to guerrilla against the Clan will be severely punished. However, Hall managed somehow to survive and escape to India.[1]

Eventually, Hall was captured by the Wolves, and ended the war as prisoner. After being freed, he was hated and blamed by everybody by his actions and Australia, calling him the destroyer of Atitjere. After he heard about two former RAF soldiers, the ex-major Jack Traver and Mia Fowler, which after being captured had joined Clan Wolf, fighting at the IlClan Trial, and later left the Clan. He searched them, and the 2 June 3151, found them in Toledo, America. He presented himself, and asked them to let them join them. He didn't want to serve another Great House, and people hated and blamed him for Atitjere's destruction. He didn't blame them for having joined the Wolves, and even identified himself with them.[2]

He offered both his talents as secret agent, and promised them to help them obtain funds. He organized a meeting in Cleveland, with Mr. Weatherbee, a MI6 secret agent, which gave them all the info he had obtained in Terra during fifteen years, which they had to deliver into a Federated Suns' embassy. The 6 June, the trio was in the way towards Galatea, and he and Mia had uncovered than the Atlas II they had obtained, and assigned to Justin was, in fact, Phantom (Individual BattleMech), Devlin Stone's war machine. Justin didn't wanted to pilot it, saying it belonged to a museum, but Jack pointed than the Wolves won't allow it.[3]

Once in Galatea, nor Jack or Justin found any work: Galatea was filled with ex-RAF soldiers, and even there were dozens of people claiming to have been Knights, giving them a bad reputation, which obviously enraged Hall. When the trio delivered Weatherbee's data into the Federated Suns' embassy, Justin proved specially valuable, as his agent skills allowed him to understand the MI6 agent who interrogated them. When the trio decided to found a new mercenary group, Justin agreed to be part of it. Jack named them the Cheetahs, in memory of a friend lost in Terra by Jack and Mia.[4]
