History
Commissioned during the Star League Era, the FWLS Kanata was an Atreus-class battleship which was in service with the Free Worlds League Navy.
First Succession War
In August of 2788 the Kanata was part of a naval flotilla of Marik sent into the Capellan Confederation as part of retribution for Task Force Devlin's overwhelming assault of New Delos. The Marik Naval Taskforce consisted of Kanata's sister ship Majestic, League-Class Destroyers Andria and Avellino, and two highly modified Carrack-Class Transports which served as Aerospace Carriers. Carrying it's orders out, the Majestic's task force would fire bomb the cities of New Canton as part of House Marik's revenge.[1]
Like all WarShips during the Early Succession Wars, the Kanata would eventually be lost in action during the conflict.
Note
- Much of the Kanata actions during the First Succession War and during the earlier Star League Era are largely unknown. It is assumed the ship was lost during the Succession Wars, but what actions lead to it's destruction remain undocumented as of this writing.
- Though not mentioned, the Kanata was likely named for the world of Kanata which is the Duchy of Andurien.
