The Memphis Tale was a civilian DropShip that joined the Secret Fleet built by Admiral Dmitrios Rummolo in the wake of Operation APOTHEOSIS, the coup launched by Stefan Amaris of the Rim Worlds Republic to take control of the Terran Hegemony and, through the Hegemony, the Star League itself.[1] Admiral Rummolo took command of the Star League Defense Force Ninth Fleet for the campaign to liberate the New Earth system as a part of Operation CHIEFTAIN in 2776; as a part of his plan, the Memphis Tale and two other civilian vessels - the DeBritta and the Rojo Caballero - were modified extensively to incorporate hidden capital weapons.[2]
