The Retribution (DropShip) was a Draconis Combine DropShip destroyed in the Battle of Wayside V.
Operational History
The Retribution was part of an invasion force, mainly composed by mercenary units from Northwind Highlanders, but it carried a full company of Combine troops, led by sho-sa Elden Parkensen. The 3 July 3058, it arrived at his target, the Periphery planet of Wayside V. However, the Clan Smoke Jaguar forces on planet were much bigger than expected, and while descending, the Jaguars' aerospace fighters attacked the invading DropShips. All were damaged, but the Retribution payed the highest price: it crashlanded, sliding sideways, losing his landing struts and with his 'Mech Bays ripped wide open. However, Parkersen and some of his men survived the crash.[1]
A Binary of Jaguars engaged the combine survivors, but soon arrived help, with a company of Highlanders. Colonel Loren Jaffray had to blew the DropShip's hydrogen tanks to win the battle. He and his men defeated the Jaguars, saving Perkersen and some of his mens but that also prevented them to salvage the Retribution.[2]
