Rhean Marik (b. 9 April 2568 - d. 16 March 2616), Duchess of Marik, was the 18th Captain-General of the Free Worlds League.[1]

Character History
Early Life & Career
The soft-spoken daughter of Brion Mark II, she was educated for military service since at the time she believed it was unlikely she would become the Captain-General. In 2571, Rhean was the youngest of her family to attended the signing of Star League Accords.
She attended the Princefield Military Academy under the alias of Frieda Moran. During her schooling with the academy the scope of her education would expanded to include more academic studies including classes which would prepare her life diplomatic and in politics. In 2568 she would graduate with honors, however she would miss out deploying Reunification War. Her military career would only include having playing a key role in the Freebooters War where she would dénouement it.
She would begin her political career assigned as diplomatic attache to Military Government Melissa Humphreys, of the Magistracy of Canopus. During her time as attaché in Magistracy, she would develop friendship Rinalla Centrella. In 2597, she along with Rinalla's daughter Carla would be targets in kidnapping attempt, which would fail and later mark end of Canopus's insurrection against Star League occupation.
The assassination of her younger brother Albrecht Marik mark change in her life, where her father would elevate her to rank of Warden of Perimeter Defenses, Supreme Commander of the FWLM in 2604. Aside from helping her father make up for his lack of military experience, she would also appointed as diplomat to aid in matters in various the Star League councils. During her time in the councils, she become friends with Zane Davion which would ease relations between her House Marik and Davion. She would allegedly rumored to be to have a romantic relationship with him.[3]
As Captain-General
After the death of her father in 2614, she would elevated to Captain-General. Shortly after attaining the position she would soon discover she have fatal strain of cancer. Despite the odds against her survival, she would remain in the position for 3 years prior to death. She would be succeeded in the position by her nephew Tomas.
Her death would mark a turning point in relations with House Davion, where Zane Davion would wage economic and legal conflict which would spiral the Free World League's economy into crisis.[4][5]

Rhean was originally listed in Marik Family Tree found in House Marik (Free Worlds League) to have lived to the age 66 years old. However, in late publications she was listed only had lived to 2616.
