The Ryuken-hachi regiment were created in the Dark Age era, modeled after the other Ryuken who were created to be trained and adopt the tactics of the Wolf's Dragoons mercenary unit.

History

The Ryuken-hachi is the newest of the six Ryuken regiments. This regiment has carried on a competition with Beta Regiment of Wolf’s Dragoons to keep pace with them during the invasion of the Federated Suns. So far they have done so, however because of their recklessness and haste both regiments have suffered comparable losses.[1]

In 3146 they assaulted New Avalon alongside the 5th Sword of Light and the 2nd Genyosha.[2]
