General

The history of this successful institution is something strange. It has a long colorful past but is also a new creation, is independent but belongs to the Science Institute on St. Ives. During the alliance with the Federated Commonwealth the academy had access to the NAIS (resources, equipment and personal), as a result it is unique among the other Capellan academies. Citizens of the former St. Ives Compact receives highest priority for entrance as normal Capellan people do.[1]

The St. Ives Academy of Martial Sciences maintains a training battalion. Students can focus on BattleMechs, AeroSpace, Combat Vehicle operations, armored infantry and unarmored infantry. The SIAMS also offers Officer's Candidate School for promising students.[2]

Atmosphere

The CCAF have a watchful eye on every student and they are very self-disciplined. One mistake or failure mean the drop out of the academy. It takes three years of a normal tour of study for graduation.[1]

Special Notes

The Capellan-St. Ives War have little effect on the applicants and all available billets are full. Former graduates rose to senior position in the St. Ives military and build their own network.[1]
