St. Ives Janissaries

An experimental combined arms brigade created by Duchess Candace Liao, the St. Ives Janissaries were modeled after the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns' Ceti Hussars. The regiment's 'Mechs, combat vehicles, and infantry were integrated at the company level instead of into traditional Regimental Combat Teams or regular regiments that separate types by battalion or regiment.
The brigade was dissolved in 3063 after the betrayal of Second Janissaries.[1]
History
The black sheep of the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces, the Janissaries spent most of their time in their base camps after the Xin Sheng Campaign. The Strategios doesn't really understand how to employ them effectively, which has led to many senior CCAF officers to call for the units' disbandment. Given the personal interest of Duchess Candace Liao, that action isn't likely.[2]

- 1st Janissaries - Moved to St. Ives Sentinels.[3]
- 2nd Janissaries - Defected and destroyed during Operation Sovereign Justice.[4]
