Talk:The Iowa
Really "The" Iowa?
I don't have the source material concerned, is that really its name? Feels very odd. Ships are normally referred to as "the [name]", but for the definitive article to actually be part of the name? I mean, it's not the U.S.S. The Enterprise...121.99.60.113 02:18, 27 September 2013 (PDT)
- That's exactly how it's presented in the source material:
“ | Command Trinary (The Jaguars' Den)
Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Command Stars (5 OmniMechs each) |
” |
— Invading Clans, p. 70, "Front Line Unit Summary" |
- So, that's how it's presented here. BrokenMnemonic (talk) 03:26, 27 September 2013 (PDT)
- How unusual.121.99.60.113 03:59, 27 September 2013 (PDT)
- Possibly a mistake on the part of the author, but The Iowa doesn't appear in any of the other sourcebooks I've checked so far, so Invading Clans may be the only text to actually mention the ship. BrokenMnemonic (talk) 04:16, 27 September 2013 (PDT)
- That was my thoughts on the matter, since a lot of those listings are one-off references. Still, if that's what's written, that's what's written, right?121.99.60.113 04:26, 27 September 2013 (PDT)
