The Tamar War College Training Battalion was expanded to five companies in preparation for Tamar's defense. However, the cadre fielded many older and cheaper 'Mech designs like the Locust. During the fall of Tamar, many cadets packed their 'Mechs with explosives, charging Clan Wolf forces in suicide attacks. The surviving training cadre eventually surrendered after the Duke was killed and his Kelswa Guard destroyed.

When the Clan Invasion came, Duke Selvin Kelswa III increased the size of the Tamar War College Training Battalion to five companies of BattleMechs. In 3051, Clan Wolf attacked Tamar, destroying the academy. [1] [2]
