Colonel Trace Decker was a Lyran Commonwealth MechWarrior, who served in the First Steiner Strikers, during the Dark Age era.[1]

History
Academy
Decker attended the War College of Buena alongside Roderick Steiner, who was at that time known as Roderick Frost.[2]
Operation HAMMERFALL
Decker participated in Operation HAMMERFALL with Roderick's First Steiner Strikers, fighting against Free Worlds League forces on worlds including Helm, as a Leutnant and CO of Saber Company. In 28 April 3138 on Helm, Decker fought elements of the Silver Hawk Irregulars, who the Strikers forced to retreat.[3] In early June 3138, Decker was also involved in a Lyran invasion of Stewart with the Strikers, as part of a force attempting to take its capital city of New Edinburgh.[4]
Regimental Command
Following Roderick's promotion to General of the Armies, Decker became the commanding officer of the First Steiner Strikers, with whom he was based on Furillo as of 3145.[1] Tasked with protecting Furillo's important military industry, Decker still hoped to conduct offensive operations against Clan Jade Falcon, which helped maintain the unit's positive public reputation.[5]
BattleMech
Decker was known to have piloted a Stalker BattleMech.[6]
Personality and Traits
Decker had a strong preference for tried and true Lyran military tactics, decrying overly imaginative military plans, in preference for grinding out an enemy.[7]
