== Clan Bloodnames - Substantial Improvement Award ==
+
I made the chatterweb news item, as well as due to having a fair bit of experience as an Discord administrator as well as having a good amount of the knowledge required to have it be integrated with the wiki, I told Nic that I volunteer my time to manage it.--[[User:Deadfire|Deadfire]] ([[User talk:Deadfire|talk]]) 01:24, 22 May 2021 (EDT)
I think the work you've done on the Clan Bloodnames page has significantly improved the usefulness of the page, compared to its original form. I think it would be useful to include a little bit of narrative in some of the sections, particularly those for the annihilated/abjured Clans, to indicate just how dead (or not) those Bloodnames are. For example, the Star Adders deliberately destroyed the Blood Spirit genetic repository in the Colleen system, so those legacies are as definitely gone as anything ever is in BattleTech, but a number of Moongoose Bloodname legacies were successfully obtained by the Cloud Cobras through Trials after the absorption. Anyway, I'd like to give you a substantial addition award because of the hard work you've put into improving the article so far - I think it's going to be a notable improvement when it's finished. I notice that you've also qualified for awards for both edits and time in service, so I'll set your awards board up and add those at the same time. Keep up the good work, it's definitely appreciated! : Thank you very much! though I'm only about half way though the DCMS, I plan on continuing to finish all the major houses at least. Seems every command almost is stuck in 3085 and 3145 has really made a huge amount of changes that needs to be pushed to the wiki. ==6th Arkab Legion==

Hello! I am new to both BattleTech and Wiki editing, but I have experience with data manipulation of various sorts. As a new player, I've found it very frustrating to track down Minis (and Record Sheets) to their sources.  Some lists already exist, but they weren't in locations or in formats I found useful as a new player, and they are very spread out.
Hey, I got a little confused by a funky sentence in the [[6th Arkab Legion#Officers|officer section of that page]]. If you could clarify the 3050-3067 section that'd be great. -[[User:BobTheZombie|BobTheZombie]] ([[User talk:BobTheZombie|talk]]) 18:08, 12 June 2016 (PDT)

I started fiddling around on my User page, trying out different table formats for listing Mini products and [[User:Dude_RB]] suggested I flag you down.

Ideally, we can figure out some way to format the data concisely and with minimal maintenance. Of course, just because I like big monolithic lists doesn't mean that's the best way for everyone, so that's also a consideration.  Not sure I have the perspective/experience to make that call.

Very, very happy to see the [[Trial of Retribution]] WWE finally getting some coverage. We really need to nail down those real-world events while people still remember what went down. (Myself, I only came back to BT in 2007 so I completely missed out on these, and have to rely on internet forums and the like to piece the information together.) I'm a bit dumbfounded by the [[Template:Category link]] you created. What does it do? Were you perchance unawares of the <nowiki>[[:</nowiki>Category:''CategoryName'']] link format to link to a category without actually sorting the article into the category? I see you just updated a bunch of project banners for Project Characters on talk pages. But some of these aren’t characters, they are real people (eg. [[Gerald Hall]] or [[Geoff Swift]]. I reckon they shouldn’t even be in this project. Did you do an automated update there? [[User:Frabby|Frabby]] ([[User talk:Frabby|talk]]) 03:22, 22 January 2023 (EST)
:Without knowing myself, but taking a guess, it might be something to do with the categories not working since the update  a couple of weeks ago. Maybe Deadfire knows a workaround. [[User:Dmon|Dmon]] ([[User talk:Dmon|talk]]) 06:51, 26 February 2018 (EST)

::Aye that was what I was attempting, using Wikipedia's current catagory link code. With the code I used the options with-in it to display the number of articles with-in an catagory which does not display. This leads me to think it's a database issue as either the data is incorrectly being stored or incorrectly being recalled. Without access to server logs or the code it's self at this time I really can only troubleshoot so much. As mediawiki checks an article after It's saved and stores the catagory tags to label the article. The first catagories added to articles are being saved and recalled just fine, but additional ones are not. This is such the case I ran into updating the bloodname articles with additional categories after they had been already created. Though I have seen this issue before, it moreover shows there is an issue with new article saves not having their catagory tags being updated. Along with the above supposed database issue, there may be an additional server cache issue. -[[User:Deadfire|Deadfire]] ([[User talk:Deadfire|talk]]) 08:17, 9 March 2018 (EST)

==Wayward Son move==

Hiya, I'm confused: Why did you move the [[Wayward Son]] article to a disambiguated name "Wayward Son (Individual Merchant-class JumpShip)" when there is no naming conflict? Any and all links to Wayward Son refer to the same JumpShip. We don’t usually disambiguate the article name on this fashion if there is no need.
