Military Unit Names[edit]

I'm slowly going through and adding redirects for the spelled-out versions of unit names. I think it might be worth adding a comment or example to the Manual of Style page saying something about creating such redirects if you create a new Military Unit, so that it doesn't have to be done later, but I'm not sure if that might be better placed in the Help & How To page for each unit type... only that's a lot of updating of help articles, whereas the Manual of Style is over-arching. Capitalization[edit]

I think the style guide needs to include the recent guidance on capitalization of equipment types - AeroSpace Fighter versus aerospace fighter - and so on. BrokenMnemonic (talk) 00:47, 18 August 2014 (PDT)

Advice[edit]

Since I'm new and probably missed the appropriate style rules:

Should plural and possessive markers be inside or outside the italics of a unit's name? e.g. "The Locusts" or "The Locust's when using a possessive?

Should Alternate Configuration be spelt out or abbreviated? It's inconsistent on the 'Mech pages I've looked at.

I mostly edit at Wikipedia, where straight apostrophes are supposed to be used instead of curly ones, so this takes getting used to. Should I be changing straight apostrophes to curly ones when editing? Madness Divine (talk) 16:32, 20 December 2021 (EST)
