History

The Wind of Olam was a merchantman JumpShip contracted to transport the Vanguard Legion during the Jihad, and which was lost evacuating the Legion from Taygeta in August or September 3069. The loss of the Wind of Olam and the Second Battalion of the Legion, who had been embarked aboard the Olam, wasn't noticed until the other ships reached New Syrtis. It was later determined from sensor logs that the Wind of Olam had been lost as a result of a helium seal rupture when the Olam attempted to jump, a failure that distorted the K-F field beyond any hope of a successful jump.[1]
