Unit Description

The XXI Corps (or Twenty-first Corps) was a corps of the Star League Defense Force. Prior to the collapse of the Star League it consisted of 8 divisions and 7 independent regiments.[1]

History

In 2764 the Twenty-first Corps was part of the First Army, assigned to the Terran Military Region. However, in 2765 an uprising occurred in the Periphery, requiring the corps' repositioning to fill in gaps left by other units sent to fight. The Twenty-first's units were split up between the military regions of the Draconis Combine, Free Worlds League, Federated Suns, and Lyran Commonwealth. However, the uprising had been secretly orchestrated by Stefan Amaris to accomplish his takeover of the Star League.

The Twenty-first would take part in Aleksandr Kerensky's campaign to retake the worlds conquered by Amaris, but in the process suffered heavy fighting. Of those units which survived, five would join Kerensky in his Operation Exodus.
