Description

The Stable is known for his law-abiding attitude.

History

The stable is known for its good reputation but lost influence because the feud with the Tandrek Stables. The ongoing fighting cost both sides many resources.[1] With the death of [[Roger Tandrek], the feud grew to a new level during the 3062 Riots where those clashes nearly left both Stables bankrupt.[2] Even in 3067 rarely a month goes by without at least one Zelazni-Tandrek grudge match being fought in the arenas.[3]

Zelazni Stables purchased two Porcupines, becoming the first major stable to put this machine through its paces in real combat. Unfortunately, after a less-than-stellar performance by one during a recent grudge match between Zelazni and Tandrek stables, Victor Zelazni has reportedly started looking for anyone interested in taking the other Porcupine off his hands.[4]

Operations

Unknown.

Stablemaster and owner

  • Victor Zelazni is the stables' stablemaster. He regards his personnel with respect and direct contracts. Known to and pay contracts on time.[1] After his feuds with Roger Tandrek and now with his daugther Robynn Tandrek, he still shows no sign of him yielding to the vendetta.[3]

Notable Personnel

Technicians

  • Jay Rivo had worked as a tech for the Waco Rangers and with his skills he easily found work on Solaris VII when he arrived in 3050[3]. His experience led him to create some strange but functional modifications, which have garnered some interest in the CCAF, though not the same with the Stables MechWarriors.[1] Veterans have learned to watch for those modifications, but the novices might end up with some unpredictable results.[3]

MechWarriors

In 3051 33 MechWarriors were fighting for Zelazni Stables.[1]

In 3067 23 MechWarriors were fighting for Zelazni Stables.[3]

Known MechWarriors

Tactics and Style

The warriors of the stable prefer physical attacks to bring their opponent down. That primary fighting style is often why members of the stable's gunnery skills are underestimated. The hatchet is an often used weapons during close combat. [8][3]

Facilities

The Stables own the Zelazni Training Center. The facility includes advanced training simulators, a well supplied repair bay and also space for personal on vacation.[1]

Notes

As of 3067, MechWarriors have contracts of 20 percent and 1.400 c-bills for wages.[3]

The Stable's rating has been lowered because of his feud with Tandrek Stables.[1]

Rules

Game Rules

The Stable as of 3067 has access to B Rated Equipment.

Zelazni MechWarriors receive a -1 to-hit modifier for all physical attacks and a +1 bonus to all Piloting Skill Rolls.

Warriors from Zelazni can take careful aim with all weapons. In order to execute this maneuver they need to stand still and announce they are going to careful aim rather than make an attack during the Weapons Attack Phase (and they are not forced to say to whom they are aiming). For each consecutive turn of careful aim the MechWarriors gain a -1 to-hit modifier (to a maximum of -3) to all direct-fire weapons mounted in a single location. If while aiming the MechWarriors fails a piloting roll, all the cumulative bonus are lost.[9]
