The title of Caliph of the Umayyad Caliphate is granted to the noble ruler of the Umayyad Caliphate within Nueva Castile. The post was originally for life, but following Joshua Murray's attempt to pass the title to his son the atabegs voted to limit the term to a year, though without term limits.[1]
