The Chaos Dragons were a mercenary unit operating during the Clan Invasion.[1]

The genesis of the Chaos Dragons lies with Count Jeremy Cordock of House Cordock. When his homeworld of Saffel was lost to the Draconis Combine during the War of 3039, Cordock resigned his commission in the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns, using what remained of his family fortune to found his own mercenary unit.[1]
For the next decade the Chaos Dragons would work their way around the Inner Sphere on various contracts, reaching the border of the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth with the Free Rasalhague Republic when the Clan Invasion broke out. The resulting spike in demand for mercenaries would lead the Chaos Dragons to accept a high paying garrison contract on the border with the Clan Occupation Zones.[1].
