Edward Smith was one of the founding Paladins of the Republic of the Sphere.[1]
History[edit]
Stone's Stalwart[edit]
During Operation SCOUR, Smith was a Captain in Stone's Stalwart, and took part in the liberation of Terra. On 13 September 3078, Smith was part of the Stone's Coalition assault on the Burragorang Castle Brian in Australia, under the command of General Belle Lee. Catching a Company sized Word of Blake raiding party as they were sneaking out of the Castle Brian, Smith charged the Blakist formation and cut it off from its support, destroying half of the raiding unit and forcing the survivors to surrender.
With the intelligence gained from these prisoners, General Lee was able to locate a way into the Castle Brian, ultimately leading to its capture.[1][2]
Paladin[edit]
As a reward for his exemplary service during the liberation of Terra, Smith was named by Devlin Stone as one of the original seventeen Paladins of the Republic.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Smith was known to have piloted a Xanthos BattleMech.[2]
