The Gift Horse was an Invader-class JumpShip of the ilClan Era.
Operational History[edit]
In April 3152, Clan Hell's Horses decided to seize the Butler Shipyards but sent only a solahma aerospace Trinary to attack it. This decision was made by the Horses as the newborn Alyina Mercantile League (AML) which they were attacking was seen as a weak chalcas abomination. This proved to be a mistake, as the shipyard was defended by the Light of Heaven mercenary unit. Hidden inside the empty hull of the unfinished Invader-class JumpShip, the mercenaries surprised the Horses and destroyed or captured all of the attacking DropShips. AML forces then pursued the Horses' Invader and bombarded its bridge, ensuring it couldn't jump away.[1]
The shipyard personnel quickly exploited the victory, looting the K-F core from the Horses' damaged ship to complete the unfinished AML Invader, whose K-F drive was not scheduled to be finished for another two months. Receiving permission from his superiors to name the vessel, the yardmaster christened the newly built JumpShip the AMLS Gift Horse, both an ironic joke and insult against Clan Hell's Horses.[2]
