Hector Fushimi was the commanding officer of the Eighth Sword of Light as of 2788.[1]

History[edit]

Sho-sa Fushimi was considered to be an excellent MechWarrior and was commanding the Third Sword of Light's Third Battalion when the Eighth Sword of Light was formed. Fushimi, being the most experienced of the officers volunteering to serve in the former Fourth Sun Zhang Cadre, was promoted to Tai-sa and given overall command. While many of the unit's soldiers had been members of the original Fourth Cadre, the attempted conquest of Hesperus II had tempered their resolve and Fushimi's soldiers were determined to achieve their goals when dispatched to Tyrfing in 2788.[1]

When the Eighth Sword of Light experienced defeat on Hesperus II, both Fushimi and his men were sobered by their failure to complete their objectives. Seeking to prove that the Eighth's defeat was not due to cowardice or dishonorable actions, Fushimi volunteered for the Tyrfing raid in order to regain his personal honor and the collective honor of the entire Eighth Sword of Light.[1] Since Fushimi's unit was the only one to volunteer for the task and remained unassigned following the Hesperus debacle, his request for assignment was accepted. While initially confident of their success, Fushimi and the Eighth Sword of Light were stunned by the devastated landscape of Tyrfing and when the radiation and chemical contamination alarms on the unit's DropShips went off before the bay doors even opened, Fushimi ordered his troops to check their cockpit seals before leading them into a battle bereft of honor.[2]

While Fushimi's fate is not recorded, it is probable that he committed Seppuku following the Draconis Combine's subsequent failure on Tyrfing.[1]

BattleMechs[edit]

Tai-sa Hector Fushimi piloted a Phoenix Hawk BattleMech.[1]
