Colonel Helmut Aufkophen was the founder of the Helmut's Hermits mercenary regiment in the early 31st century.

History

In 3025, Helmut Aufkophen and his Hermits, serving under contract with the Draconis Combine, were stationed on the world of Harvest.

In August 3028, Helmut and his troops, still on Harvest, were stationed in defense of the city of Dangalobee during the Fourth Succession War. Despite Helmut's pleas that the Lyran Commonwealth forces were threatening the city from an unexpected direction, the Combine commanders refused to listen. Then the Fourth Donegal Guards crossed the Fire Salmon River and forced the mercenaries to retreat.
