Hermione (Individual DropShip)

Hermione
Vessel Profile
TypeDropShip
In service until10 December 3057

The Hermione was an aerodyne (non-spheroid) DropShip of unspecified class, operated by Clan Wolf. Context suggests it may have been a Broadsword or possibly Titan-class vessel. It was described as one of the Clan's "Command DropShips."[1]

During the Refusal War, it took part in the assault on Borealtown on Wotan on 10 December 3057,[2] where it crashed. Clan Wolf subsequently dispatched a force to download certain data from the crashed vessel, then destroy the wreckage to deny Clan Jade Falcon access to the information it might hold. This was achieved.[3]

Canonicity[edit]

The Hermione is only mentioned in the (apocryphal) video game, MechWarrior 2. Video games are expressly excluded from the current definition of Canon, even though they are official products and information taken from video games "can be assumed to be part of the shared universe as long as it is not directly contradicted, and makes sense." As such, the DropShip Hermione must be considered to be apocryphal.

Although the game cites a passage from The Falcon and the Wolf, the sourcebook does not mention the Hermione, the loss of a Clan Wolf DropShip in the battle for Borealtown, or the side mission to destroy the wreckage.
