Prior to July 3050 the weight-sensitive mines would explode against unarmored infantry and battle armor only if they walked/ran on the surface if the minefield.
After July 3050, the M1423 weight sensitive Pop-Up Mine was modified to be able to also trigger against jumping troops (including jumping battle armor.[1]
