Isolde Centrella was a member of the ruling family of the Magistracy of Canopus.
History[edit]
After graduating from the Canopian Institute of War, Isodle served in Raventhir's Iron Hand as a mechwarrior. Later she would serve as an aide to Senior General Talia Kessa at the Magestrix Command Center, which she leveraged to gain a position in the Third Canopian Light Horse, a unit she was soon able to buy command of.[1]
Campaign against the Marians[edit]
In February 3151, the Marian Hegemony launched simultaneous invasions of the Canopian worlds of Gambilon, Marantha and Booker, with only the latter world's defenders being able to do more than slow the invaders down.[4] Into the breach stepped Colonel Isolde Centrella. Isolde convinced her mother to dispatch the untested mercenary unit Gabrielle's Pride under her leadership to Lindenmarle, with hopes of collecting additional forces to relieve Booker. She also convinced the regent to send another of the Magistracy's precious JumpShips to Ballalaba in hopes of recalling the Third Canopian Cuirassiers and Second Canopian Light Horse, who were out of contact with the Magistracy Armed Forces.[5]
Isolde's flagship, the Kossandra Centrella,Category:Articles needing clarification[clarification needed] rendezvoused with the First Canopian Brigade over Lindenmarle then proceeded onwards to Booker. Isolde led her ad-hoc task force to victory against the VI Legio, compelling the remains of the Marian unit to outright surrender. Isolde paid the same independent JumpShips that had ferried the invaders to Booker to carry her consolidating command, now dubbed Task Force Two, onwards to Marantha. This time Isolde arranged a parlay before making planetfall, and managed to convince the elements of IV Legio on Marantha to withdraw unmolested with their loot instead of attempt to hold the world. Isolde then began planning her next engagement, the reconquest of Gambilon.[6] This proved unnecessary, as the Marians weren't foolish enough to engage four regiments with a single legion and withdrew before contact.[3]
Isolde decided her now rechristened Task Force Alpha should go on the offensive. She suspected the independent world of Thraxa had been the Marians staging point, but considering the likelihood Ballalaba and Islington had been retaken elected to bypass it in favor of attempting to relieve any MCAF survivors those worlds might contain. Before departure, Isolde sent a trivid back to Canopus announcing her achievements and her campaign's final objective: Alphard. The public went wild with the news of her victories, and an anonymous donor purchased Isolde a commission as general, allowing Serin Centrella to appoint her overall commander of the war effort against the Hegemony.[3]
By this point, Isolde's popularity made her a potential candidate to be elected the next Magestrix should Ilsa Liao-Centrella lose the position.[7] Isolde publicly supported the current Magestrix and was quick to shut down insinuations that she should take the throne.[1]
