Izzy McClain was, as of 3022, a MechWarrior in the Northstar Irregulars, a single-lance mercenary unit. He was the youngest and least experienced member of the lance.[1]

As part of the Northstar Irregulars, in 3022, McClain participated in two known operations, both on behalf of Free Worlds League noble Ezra Durrant: a successful raid of Demeter in April and a failed raid of Bithinia in September. In the latter battle, McClain's 'Mech was destroyed by Capellan forces, an ammo explosion eliminating the Zeus. It is not known whether McClain survived, but his last transmission was a short and agonized scream.[1]

McClain piloted a Zeus until 17 September 3022, when it was lost in battle.[1]
