Leftenant Jean Gieschen was an Armor Commander in the Kilbourne Draconis March Militia as of 3021.[1]

Gieschen was seconded in 3021 by the Kilbourne Draconis March Militia, to the planetary militia of Inner End, to provide guidance on how best to use six newly purchased Hetzer Wheeled Assault Guns.
While Gieschen was on this cadre duty, Inner End was attacked by the Holding's Horrors pirate band, which fielded a single Lance of older light and medium BattleMechs. Despite the limitations of the Hetzers, which didn't even yet have radios installed, Gieschen managed to arrange an ambush which destroyed the pirate leader's VL-2T Vulcan in the first volley. The pirates, without their leader Holding, then used their speed to flee from their unseen enemy.[1]
