History[edit]
Colonel Sullivan was an unremarkable MechWarrior who primarily rose through the ranks due to his survival more than anything else. Sullivan's primary distinguishing characteristic was his ability to maintain a stoic silence even in the worst combat conditions which was praised by both his admirers and critics. What others didn't know was that Sullivan suffered from a severe childhood speech impediment that resurfaced in times of stress so, rather than exposing this embarrassing trait, he chose to lead by example in the heat of combat. This facade not only prevented the truth of Sullivan's impediment from coming to light, it also earned him command of the Twenty-third Marik Militia in 2784.[1]
While Sullivan's skills in a BattleMech were not much better than average, his familiarity with his personal BattleMech made him the most accurate member of the Twenty-third Militia and earned him the nickname "DC" from his troops - shorthand for Dead-Center.[1] In July 2788, both the Capellan Confederation and Lyran Commonwealth raided the Twenty-third's posting on Tyrfing in force, requiring the assistance of both the Third and Seventh Oriente Hussars. During the course of the fighting, Sullivan's desperate militiamen utilized nuclear and chemical weapons in order to buy time and the planetary environment soon became inhospitable to anyone outside of a sealed BattleMech. The Twenty-third Marik Militia was destroyed before the fighting on Tyrfing concluded.[2]
BattleMechs[edit]
Colonel Rodrigo Sullivan was a longtime pilot of a Marauder BattleMech and his unique bond with his machine allowed him to excel in intense combat.[1]
