Publication Date (Some Research Notes)[edit]
The article orginally listed 2010 as the publication date due to the psoted copyright notice on the bottom being dated 2010. However this inference is somewhat weak. I prior version of this document's predecessor Classic BattleTech Introductory Record Sheets was modifed in 2008 while still using a copyright notice that used the year 2006. So the copyright might only provide a lower bound on the formal publication year or year of actual first appearance. Through WebArchive, I can establish that this was available online in Dec 2011, but some months prior there are versions of the downloads page tha omit this set of record sheets. Also the document itself shows a modifed date of Nov 3, 2011. Note: 25th Anniversary Introductory Box Set was also published in 2011.
I cannot 100% rule out an earlier appearance (perhaps through some other forum), but the data currently points to 2011 as being the first appearance. So I will revise this page accordingly.
