History[edit]
The Tamarind Regulars were formed in 3096 at the order of Duke Photon Brett-Marik. With his order, the former Marik Militia and Free Worlds Guards regiments that were operating as the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey's armed forces were disbanded and re-formed as "native" units. One goal of this decree was to shed the emotional baggage carried by several units and allow them to forge new identities. By 3101 the new Tamarind Regular units had created new insignia, paint schemes, and traditions.[1]
The Regulars received their baptism of fire during Operation HAMMERFALL. The loss of Tamarind to Lyran Commonwealth forces and the attempt to retake the system in 3138 primed the Duchy for membership in the re-formed Free Worlds League.[1]
By 3145 the Third, Fifth, Sixth and Ninth Tamarind Regulars had been destroyed fighting the Lyran Commonwealth and Clan Wolf.[1] [2]
