Ty Van Trahn was the commanding officer of the Second Striker Battalion and aide to the commanding officer of the Nineteenth Cavalry Regiment as of 3062.[1]

Major Van Trahn was the commander of the Twenty-first Centauri Lancers' Third Battalion as of 3059 [2], but left that unit over a bitter disagreement with its commander.
Making his way to Outreach, Van Trahn's meeting with the ELH's liaison lead to a quick talk with ELH High Command and the Light Horsemen were more than happy to accept an officer from a well-respected and honorable unit. Van Trahn immediately gained his current posting as executive officer to Colonel Paul Calvin and leader of the Nineteenth Cavalry's Second Striker Battalion.
