Sam Vogel was a loyal member of the Waco Rangers. However, Wayne Waco, the founder and commander of the Waco Rangers, began pressuring the unit's members to pledge a "Death Oath" against the Wolf's Dragoons for the accidental death of his son John Waco in 3008.[1]

Sam resisted the pressure and realized that the "Death Oath" would only lead to the destruction of the unit. He would resign his commission in the Waco Rangers on May 9th, 3008.[1]

His fate after that is unknown at this time.
