In the mid-3020s, Lockheed/CBM Corporation's board of directors was caught embezzling huge sums of money.[2] This triggered a company-wide investigation by the Commonwealth Board of Ethics in Trade, resulting in corruption charges for more than two-thirds of the board as well as Alan Day's imprisonment. A minor board member, Rachael Haranshire, rose to become the new CEO and continued to root out additional culprits missed by the Commonwealth investigation. In appreciation, Archon Katrina Steiner rewarded her with Alan Day's duchy and control over the entire interstellar corporation.[1]
